Collection: Al Ramleh Collection
Founded in 716 CE by the Umayyad caliph Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik, Ramleh was established as the administrative capital of Palestine.
Strategically located at the crossroads of major trade routes, including the Via Maris connecting Cairo with Damascus and the road linking the Mediterranean port of Jaffa with Jerusalem, Ramleh became a thriving commercial center.
Its prosperity was further enhanced by industries such as pottery, dyeing, weaving, and olive oil production, attracting numerous Muslim scholars and contributing to its cultural vibrancy.
