Introduction
At Asherah Jewellery, every piece begins at my worktable — thoughtfully, patiently, and always by hand. As the founder and sole artisan, I (Zeina) put my heart into each design, weaving together threads of heritage, memory, and creativity. Many people searching for authentic Palestinian jewellery in the UK find Asherah because they’re seeking something meaningful, personal, and rooted in story — and that is exactly what I hope to offer.
If you’d like to know more about my journey and why I create the way I do, you can read my full story on my About Page: (I can add the exact link when you're ready.)
The Heart Behind Asherah Jewellery
As the only artisan behind Asherah Jewellery, every piece passes through my hands from start to finish. This personal, meticulous process is what shapes the soul of each design. My commitment to authenticity and cultural storytelling guides everything I create, ensuring every piece feels intentional, connected, and crafted with care.
Meet the Maker (Just Me — Zeina!)
I began Asherah Jewellery as a way to preserve and reimagine the beauty of Palestinian heritage. What started as a deeply personal creative outlet quickly grew into a passion I now share with people around the world. My work is influenced by memories, embroidery motifs, traditional dress (like my mother’s thobes), and the colours and meanings woven into our cultural identity.
Beadwork Techniques & Creative Crafting
Rather than traditional metalwork or engraving, my craft is rooted in beadweaving, including techniques like peyote stitch. Beadwork allows me to translate Palestinian motifs into wearable art — one bead at a time. Each piece is built slowly, deliberately, with hundreds or even thousands of tiny beads coming together to form patterns inspired by tatreez, heritage symbols, and cultural stories.
This kind of beadwork leaves no stitches or seams. Instead, every design grows organically in my hands, shaped by rhythm, memory, and intuition.
My Design Process
Designs often begin with a spark — a colour palette that reminds me of a thobe pattern, a memory from home, or a symbol I want to reinterpret. From there, I sketch, test weaves, adjust shapes, and refine the design until it feels right. As each piece develops, it carries more than aesthetics: it carries intention, meaning, and connection.
A Palestinian Story in Every Piece
Many people who look for Palestinian jewellery in the UK are searching for pieces that honour identity, memory, and heritage. I want every creation to feel like a continuation of those stories. Whether inspired by tatreez motifs, traditional colours, or my own family history, each piece reflects a cultural narrative that deserves to be celebrated and preserved.
