Found this lovely shop at Kings Cross market while they were making the bracelets in front of us. They shared the context behind the design patterns, as code that the women who weaved these used to communicate each other. Love being able to wear something so beautiful and meaningful every day - I don't make such purchases very often, and when I do, I always make sure they hold significance to me. Hope to build my collection over time, in the meantime will attempt the cookie recipe that accompanied my ring!

As a male traveller fascinated by both Middle Eastern and relatedly, old Silk Road cultures, this Tatreez bracelet represents the continuation of an ancient artform.

I chose the Old Trees in Grey design because trees signify the complexity of life and from what I understand are integral to Levantine culture—from the scent of Cedar permeating through households to Olive trees that have nourished generations and symbolise peace.

The bracelet wears so well and I really like the subtle design. The craftsmanship is striking: grey chevrons that shift from luminous to matte, sometimes appearing tinged with green. I appreciate the attention to detail and the passion to keeping this artform alive amid the ubiquity of mass production and high technology.

I must also add that Zeina provides excellent customer service. I highly recommend her jewelry.
